On Wednesday, 7 October, 2015, a delegation from the Ecole Pratique des Hautes Études (EPHE), together with the French Cultural Attaché to Tehran had a visit to the two Faculties of Persian Literature & Foreign Languages and Theology & Islamic Studies.

On Wednesday, 7 October 2015, a delegation from the Ecole Pratique des Hautes Études (EPHE), together with the French Cultural Attaché to Tehran had a visit to the two Faculties of Persian Literature and Foreign Languages and Theology and Islamic Studies.

In this visit, the French Embassy’s Cultural Attaché, Jamel Oubechou, introduced the delegation members and expressed the willingness of the French Government to enhance academic collaborations among ATU and French universities. His speech was followed by Prof. Hubert Bost, Head of EPHE, elaborating on EPHE’s specialized activities. He pointed to the long history of Iran-France relations and its influence on the further improvement of their relations. Then, Dr Laurence Frabolot, EPHE Director for International Affairs, explained the international activities of the institute and its cooperation with other universities. At the end of the meeting, the academic staff and other officials from ATU departments of Arabic Language and Literature, French Translation, Linguistics, and Theology and Philosophy talked about their research and educational activities and discussed various grounds for cooperation, including holding joint workshops and conferences, conducting joint research projects, student and staff exchange, sabbaticals, and scholarships. The meeting was closed with the parties agreeing to have another session to sign a memorandum of understanding on cooperation.
