About TIS
Faculty of Theology and Islamic Studies (TIS) was founded in 2012. As the name reveals, the Faculty offers undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes in the two broad areas of Theology and Islamic Studies. The Faculty is well-known among academia as an important institute of higher education aimed at teaching and conducting research in various specialised areas within the fields of Theology and Islamic Studies.
Currently, 29 highly qualified academic staff are providing teaching and research services to 135 undergraduate and 257 postgraduate students in the Faculty. Moreover, 13 staff are facilitating the administrative services at TIS.

Facilities
Located in ATU's Central Campus, Faculty of Theology and Islamic Studies (TIS) is set up in 5 floors, contains 12 classrooms, more than 26 rooms for the academic staff, and 4 conference rooms. There are also 1 reading room for PhD candidates and 2 rooms for visiting lecturers.

Moreover, a number of facilities are located in the Central Campus and shared with other Faculties located in the same campus, including:
— 2 computer workstations;
— A Central Library and Documentation Centre, cataloguing more than 69,420 volumes in English and Persian;
— A mosque;
— 2 reading rooms, one room dedicated to PhD students;
— 1 restaurant, in 4 floors;
— A large sports complex, including swimming pools, saunas, gyms, and basketball, volleyball, and football saloons, among others;
— 2 buffets.
